Preliminary figures have been released for this year's Terrace Rotary Auction, which was held over the weekend at the Terrace Sportsplex.
Auction Chair Brian Downie says the two-day event, which was streamed live over ZOOM and YouTube, generated $44,647 in bids on the nearly 400 items donated by area businesses and agencies.
In addition, $2,850 was donated in cash.
The money generated by the auction goes into the Rotary Club's Project Account, which is used to support various projects and groups in the Terrace area.
Among the recent donations: $10,000 to the Dr R.E.M. Lee Hospital Foundation to help in the purchase of a Surgical Hand Tray for Mills Memorial Hospital; $3,500 to Parkside Secondary School Wellness Program; and $2,000 to Terrace Church's Food Bank.
This was the club's 62nd annual auction.
