In 2018, the Rotary Clubs of Terrace and Terrace-Skeena Valley were asked to consider a hands-on project to build sidewalks and a gazebo for the residents of McConnell Estates, a Northern Health assisted living facility in Terrace. All parties agreed that the beautiful view overlooking Terrace was not available to many of the residents as wheel chairs were not easily maneuvered on the grass.

After a lengthy time, planning and working with Northern Health and Rotarians, construction was started with a local contractor in October 2019. At this time concrete is being poured and the gazebo will be finished by mid-December. In the Spring 2020, Rotarians will complete landscaping and painting of the gazebo.

This project is possible with the participation of Northern Health, the contractors, and Rotarians from the Rotary Clubs of Terrace and Terrace- Skeena Valley. Rotary District 5040 contributed to this worthwhile community project by providing a Rotary District Grant.
